It's the perfect way to enjoy the sunset from the deck of Alexander Hamilton with a cold drink and great company.
5 stars!
My wife and I enjoyed an awesome afternoon day sail upon the Alexander Hamilton. We set sail from Nevis, and sailed across the narrows to Saint Kitts. The winds were a perfect 20 knots and the boat was very comfortable. Brett encouraged me to take the wheel for an hour as the crew trimmed the sails, while the crew spoke on the history of the islands and tales sailing the world. A very special experience.
Truly Special Sailing
Special family time on the Alexander Hamilton. Great day of sailing by Captain Brett. Our family enjoyed this beautiful historical schooner. Our itinerary had it all; tranquil sailing, nice lunch on the beach in Nevis and shipwreck snorkeling. The crew was delightful. Bongo and Tee did an awesome job of taking great care of us. 100% recommendations from our family. PS. this trip was our second with Captain Brett.
A great day, highly recommended!
Brett & his crew took us out with two friends on a sailing/snorkelling day from Chrishi beach in Nevis and we had a wonderful time. The boat is magnificent and sails well. Brett is obviously an excellent sailor and a great captain as well as very professional and safety aware. We stopped in a beautiful bay in St Kitts for snorkelling and lunch. We brought our own lunch but there were plenty of free drinks (alcoholic and non alcoholic) and a delicious rum punch at the end with Brett and the (really nice) crew!
A fantastic experience!
Spent a lovely afternoon sailing with Schooner Alexander Hamilton. This is the last all wooden boat built on Nevis. She's about 40 years old, designed and built by a true master. Look at those masts! Captain Brett and his crew were charming and engaging. It was impressive watching them raise the sails.
Exactly the kind of fun, laid back sail we were needing! There's nothing like being out on the water
Last Wooden Schooner built on Nevis
For anyone who visits St Kitts and Nevis and wants an to experience authentic Caribbean history, this is a must.
The ship is beautiful and the crew so friendly and engaging.
Highly Recommend for Private Family-friendly Adventure
My wife and 2 y/o daughter did a half-day sail with Brett and his team. We had a GREAT time. We’re not experienced sailors but we (mostly I) learned a lot about sailing on our excursion, in addition to the relaxation.
Brett is one of the most highly credentialed sailors on the island and has a super unique boat.
Highly recommend.
Alexander Hamilton, built in Gallows Bay Charlestown just feet away from the birthplace of the great man himself.
The planning started in 1979. The keel was laid in 1981 by Ralph Harris, one of the last West Indian wooden boat builders in Nevis. By hand with local materials and traditional hand tools. Check out the Audio History by pressing the button below.
March 26th 2019 the first sail aboard Alexander Hamilton - crew for the delivery trip, my good friend Dan, the patient previous owner Ray Lymington and not forgetting one of the finest yacht photographers and filmmakers Alexis Andrews from Antigua.
(needless to say, he did not influence this video).

Schooner Alexander Hamilton
After block failure during a shakedown sail, it was apparent that they all needed to be replaced. Instruction in the operation of machinery from Stephen in Norfolk, England, was required. Big Thanks to Ed Getley for the use of his workshop and Jim for supplying the wood.
After an enjoyable morning sail, just as we were getting ready to drop the sails in a protected anchorage, the forward top mast gave way.
